Finding Light
Living with intention in a world that feels dark
"Nothing can dim the light that shines from within." - Maya Angelou
Last week, I almost scrapped this Substack.
After the senseless killing of Renee Good, the idea of launching a newsletter about the life-changing power of positive energy felt incredibly insensitive and irresponsible. How could I write about light, intention, or hope when things feel so dark? When we are overwhelmed by grief, anger, and disbelief? When so many are suffering?
I had to dig deep.
Here’s where I landed. Choosing to see the light in the world doesn’t mean ignoring the darkness.
This newsletter isn’t about pretending that everything is okay. It’s about learning how to stay grounded, open, and intentional even when the world feels like it’s on fire. About recognizing that if you look hard enough there is light even in immense darkness. About connecting with the truest part of ourselves and embracing the stillness within even when things get loud.
In My Intentional Era will be a weekly-ish newsletter to share reflections on:
Creating a meaningful life rooted in intention
Recognizing how our thoughts influence our life experiences
Practicing gratitude as a way to elevate our energy
Learning to trust ourselves without needing the approval of others
Choosing authenticity and living in alignment with our true self
Feeling fear about taking up space but doing it anyway
Supporting the mind and body holistically through acupuncture, yoga, reiki, and other soul-centered practices
Because even in the darkest moments, we can still choose how we show up for ourselves and others. And that matters.
Thank you for being here. 🤍
